Aside from new goals etc, January is a great time for having a de-clutter and making space for all that the new year will bring. Of course you can do this anytime of year when you're feeling snowed under too.
I see it often. That pile of papers in your office or home that you keep moving around or avoiding.
"I'll sort that stuff out later"
"I'll jut put it here for now"
Maybe its those emails clogging up your inbox or files all over the desktop screen on your computer.
You might shuffle them around every now and then, but generally, the pile just keeps gets bigger.
I have a home office and at the moment there's a big demolition going on nearby. Add that noise (imagine house shaking thumps of concrete being pulled up and dropped) to the usual city/harbour sounds and multiple tasks with conflicting priorities and a puppy that wants to play... Sometimes it can be hard to focus!
Here are a couple of ways that I block off those distractions:
I recently worked with a client who needed to rework her system for handling incoming and outgoing paperwork and mail.
It was important for her that the desk accessories that she used looked nice so that she could enjoy using her office space.
